Today is Pi Day. Its symbol is the lower case Greek letter “π”. Since the first 3 numbers in Pi are 3.14, we can see why March 14th (3/14) was chosen as the day to have an annual celebration. Don’t get it confused with National Pie Day which was on January 23rd. No this is the day for celebrating the mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference. You know Pi= 3.141592654. Many people use this day to have a reason to eat pies or anything circular.
When I was homeschooling our son, we loved using this day to add fun while learning Math. Now that he’s older we still have fun eating pie on this day every year.
Today we started the day with some skillet pancakes I made for breakfast. I cut this like a pie and served each slice with ghee, powdered sugar, chopped pecans, chocolate chips, and maple syrup on top.
Later on, we had cheesecake. Since it was hard to choose, we bought the variety sampler from Walmart. I made it fun by having a tasting contest. There was the New York style, strawberry, Triple Chocolate, and Turtle cheesecake. We already knew what the New York one tasted like and we all love it. So I settled on testing the 3 with the toppings.
The winner was #3 (the Turtle Cheesecake). That was mine and hubby's 1st choice. Our son said he liked #2 (the Triple Chocolate) most of all. All of them tasted delicious and we would buy these again. Did any of you celebrate Pi Day by eating pie today?

My friend's husband is an engineer, and she introduced me to it.
Be blessed dear.
